Program Details:

The course takes place over a weekend at the self-service cabin Bårdsgarden in Storlidalen, 20-22 of June. In addition to be introduced to theoretical knowledge about outdoor life and summer hiking, we will also embark on day hikes from Bårdsgarden to practice what we learn. The route will be chosen by the tour leaders in consultation with the group and based on weather and conditions in the mountains.

Participant Requirements:

?This weekend trip is a beginner friendly course and no prior knowledge is necessary.

As this is a group trip, participants are expected to contribute socially and help with practical tasks at the self-service cabin. We will hike together as a group, and all decisions regarding routes, group considerations, and weather assessments will be made by our two experienced tour leaders.

Packing List:

Please refer to DNT’s summer hiking packing list here. For this tour, it is essential to have appropriate hiking clothing and sturdy footwear that can handle changing weather conditions in the mountains. Additionally, you must bring a bed sheet or a sleeping bag liner for the cabin.

Tour Leadership:

This is a DNT group tour led by two experienced tour leaders. Our leaders are volunteers who have completed the DNT tour leader training program. Their expertise ensures a safe and enjoyable hiking experience with Trondhjems Turistforening. The tour leaders make decisions that prioritize the well-being of the group and always assess the hike based on weather conditions and group dynamics. Adjustments to the route may be made to ensure safety, as determined by the tour leaders during the trip.

Transport:

We aim to arrange carpooling among participants to make transportation easier. Further details will be shared closer to the event. The cost of driving, including fuel and tolls, will be shared among those in each car.

Price:

  • Members (without transport): 1 599 NOK

  • Non-members (without transport): 1 999  NOK

The price includes guidance from experienced tour leaders, accommodation in a shared room at a self-service DNT cabin for two nights, and meals.
